Favorite post race indulgence? I usually indulge with a couple donuts!!
Morning or evening runs? I really prefer a morning run when the world is quiet and just waking up.
Do you prefer to run alone or with a partner? I prefer to run with a partner so I will have that motivation to keep going a little further down the road.
I can’t run without… my Fitbit watch to track how far I have gone.
What is your most memorable race? My most memorable race was in April 2016 at the JackRabbit 5K when my 75 year old Dad ran the race with me. It was his first 5K and on his bucket list of things to accomplish.
How do you choose what races your want to run? I mostly choose races that a close to me and that are raising money for good organizations. I did branch out this year and ran the Joplin Memorial 5K.
What motivates you to keep running? At my age, running gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
You ran the Hero Half Marathon in 2015 and were the first person to sign up for 2016! Tell me about your first experience running the Hero Half Marathon. What was it that made you want to come back? Due to some circumstances I actually did not get to run the ½ last year and let a friend substitute for me. I signed up this year to run for the reasons I was going to last year: my husband was a Lieutenant at Bentonville Fire Department for 27 years and is now retired, my Father-in-Law also worked at the BFD and my brother-in-law is currently a firefighter with the BFD.
